I'm curious. has anyone noticed any changes in SHB numbers when treating with O.A?
-
It doesn't seem to bother them.
I've got more SHB this year than I did last year.
-
AFAIK there is no effect from the OA on SHB. Sure wish there was!

As far as I know, Coumophas :o is the only mite treatment that is effective on SHB as well. Would I put that stuff in my hives? No way!
Good beekeeper hygiene, hygienic queens, and strong colonies seem to me some of the best methods. I don't want to forget full sunlight and perhaps something under the colonies that make the SHB life cycle difficult.

i'm trying all the known ways of dealing with them & then some. since I've only just started using O.A. I was just curious as to whether anyone noticed any help with the beetles as a side effect of using it. I hope the 2 cold snaps we had here this winter will help. with the last 2 winters being so mild the beetle counts here have been of the charts.
