Title: How cold is it?
Post by: iddee on January 22, 2019, 08:26:08 am
The story goes that cannonballs used to be stored aboard ship in piles, on a brass frame or tray called a 'monkey'. In very cold weather the brass would contract, spilling the cannonballs: hence very cold weather is 'cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey'.   :o :D

I think it is here this morning.

Our current temperature is 29°F with freezing rain.  I hear the temperature is supposed to drop tonight and tomorrow to a low of -12°F which is to put the wind chill between -30°F / -40°F.  Winter is officially here and looks to stay a while.  On the upside, Josh and I will probably do some ice fishing. ;D. First off, the first 3 words... "The story goes"
That says it's most likely a fable.

Secondly, I am more inclined to believe it is true since snopes says it's false. I don't believe anything snopes says, as they could care less about the truth, as long as they can push their leftist agenda.
