I believe my Heilizer Oxalic Acid Vaporizer is on it's way out. It's been my steady mite control companion now for ten years.
Was wondering if anyone here has an in good condition OA vaporizer they are no longer using?

Sorry, done gave mine away. Beez Needz has new ones.

Hi Mikey :) How much are you asking?
-
jen-click on the photo below. if that is your vaporizer it uses a diesel glow plug to create the heat. it's held in by set screws. you might check with heilizer for the correct glow plug part number or take it to an auto parts to match it. the average is cost around $12.00 so it's a cheap fix.
here's what heinz says about it.
"If the glow plug is burned out, you can see it on the black melted plastic ring at the end of the plug. This might happen when the vaporizer is too long on the battery. Always disconnect as soon as the tray is empty.
There also can be a corrosion problem. Oxalic acid is the strongest natural acid and the corrosion can start on the glow plug. Remove the plug and clean it with sandpaper, also clean the aluminum hole where the plug is in. "
I bought one of these & it works great. it's made in the chech republic & is powered by a glow plug from a VW.

Nice to know there are alternatives out there at half the cost of the popular models.

Hey Rober, I'm going to load some pics of my vap wand. Tell me what you think. Is it salvageable?

Jen,
You may need to PM rober.

the melted black plastic is what Heinz was talking about. I would pull the glow plug & wire brush it clean. go to wally world, dicks, academy sports....& buy a wire a brush tip for cleaning .22 rifle bores. chuck it in a drill & clean the glow plug hole. clean all the wire terminals whilst you're at it. if that doesn't work take the glow plug & the vaporizer to an auto parts & match up a new glow plug. at the worst you'll be out $15.00 & the brush & glow plug can still be used on the next vaporizer you buy. if you end up needing a new one I recommend the one in the link I provided.

that's the only melted black plastic that I see so yes. reread the text in quotation marks in my 1st reply. that came from the manufacturer of your vaporizer.

Got it, and thanks for your help Rober. Rock On!

See them while you can!
We saw Vanilla Fudge a couple of weeks ago. I expected to only see a bunch of old gray haired people (like me). There was a group of 20 somethings there showing their respect. Sad to say, there was only about 100 people in attendance. What a great show. Those guys still had their singing voices. You could tell they had taken care of their vocal chords all these years. Their fingers were lightening fast still too!
-
Agreed Baker! I remember Vanilla Fudge ;D All of our younger year bands are in their 70's now. The Who's Roger Daltrey suffered meningitis in 2015 said he didn't think he was going to pull thru. He did! He still rocks the stage but has to travel with a personal nurse now, named Gordon. Mick Jaggar travels with a personal heart attack doctor now. Saw Joan Baez! Still pretty and a wonderful voice, and yes a theater of gray hairs and old hippy skirts, an long white beards. My music bucket list includes John McCartney, Paul Simon, and Eric Clapton. I hope I can scratch off that list... I ain't gettin any younger ya know :D

saw hot tuna a month ago. saw jim kweskin & Geoffrey muldaur awhile back. bet ya' never heard of them.
