Not sure but a couple of hives have a huge mess of black sloppy bee poo. Thinking nosema. Should these hives be burned?

NO. Nosema is curable and is not unusual in early spring.

American Foulbrood is the only disease where burning the equipment is the solution.   Early in my beekeeping journey I bought a package of bees that had nosema.  I treated with fumagillin.  That cleared it up but I saw evidence of it again and again over time.  I lost that colony, for a reason I don't remember.  Probably was for the best.
