Title: Bee Vac
Post by: Zweefer on April 29, 2021, 04:59:34 pm
Just saw that the Bushkill Bee Vacs were back in stock so pulled the trigger and ordered one!
Now here's hoping I have use for it this season...  ;D

Sweet. Do you do cut outs ?  I think it would be easy to make one with a shop vac.

I thought I needed one when I started out.

It only took a couple of cut-outs for me to realize I wasn’t cut out to do them.

I usually have a call or two a year (cutout etc) that this will help with.  I prefer a trap out when possible, but having the right tool for the job is invaluable.

Yeah, your going to like that beevac!

Edit. Wish you lived closer!  If I had someone who could help we could actually make GOOD money doing removals.  I usually turn down a LOT of them, just because i dont have help.

We had two folks in town that I felt good about sending referrals to.  One of them has retired.  He kept adding helpers, but they all drifted away after a while.  It is hot, uncomfortable work.  There are two newbies trying to start a business in town.  I'm not sure about their business plan.  When I last talked to them, they were going to do the cut-outs for free, and put the hives on their property.  They planned on making their money by selling the honey, I think.

I hope they are able to make it, because we need them.
