Hi folks, just thought I would drop a quick hello and an update.
Fiona was bad, but my area got spared the worst of it, just power outages and some mangled trees. Had the decency to fall right between my pallets, no damage.

On another note, I met a new family from Ukraine that arrived 2 months ago. He was running a 1200 hive apiary when they had to make a run for it. I had him with me for a couple of days, showing him my set up. No english at all, but a friendly interpreter, Dimitri, helped us. His name is Stepan, could work me into the ground, and doesn't wear gloves or a veil. lol
I gave him a couple hives to help get his mind off things.

It's always nice when nature cuts you some slack! :)

That's really cool that you are welcoming Stepan like that. I bet it will be interesting to learn from him how they keep bees in his country.

Just Wow! And how the bees bring us together. Wonderful to hear from you Perry. And lucky Stepan and Dimitri to have you for a friend ~

Glad to hear Fiona had little impact on you.
Thanks for being there for Stepan. His story breaks my heart, but I am so happy there was somewhere refugees could go. Let's hope he is able to return home soon.

Good to hear from you @Perry (https://worldwidebeekeeping.com/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=49)!
It warms my heart to see good come from bad. Glad things aren’t too messed up after the storm. Keep us posted on Stephan as well!

You're still a good guy Perry. Glad you missed the worst.

Glad you're ok

Nice!!! Couldnt have found a better guy to hook up with. I'm hearing lots of stories fromt he Son about his stay in Ukraine and working with the people there.

Hi Lazy ... :) Is your son still in Ukraine?
-
No Mrs Jen, the government managed to get him out 4 hours before Russia attacked. FOUR... hours... I woke up, saw Russia had attacked, ran to my phone... it had a from my son... all it said was SAFE! They set him up in Germany, and started shipping the Ukranians to him. He came back to the US from Germany about a month ago.
