In this one you can see the ugly old fence and an end open and ready for fill dirt to be delivered.

Cool! When's the pool party?
-
 Jen I think you are just a tad late for the pool party, maybe a weed pulling party in a few months
-
g3 is kinda right jen converting to a raised bed garden. Gonna let whats in there get a lil more active growing then im a go round up crazy befor i set beds. spray them dead and hit with black cloth then beds start going in.
-
Whew, I'm tired just looking at those pictures, never mind the work involved. Hat's off to you, I am sure it will all be worth it when you're sitting off in a chair admiring the garden.
-
I seem to remember somebody else putting in a bunch of raised beds a while back
-
Ooooh Okay! Cool! looks like a great sunny place for a garden :D
-
I'll be glad when the garden's not a mud puddle and I can start turning it over. I've got five new acres now I've got to bush hog and plant clover in, too.
-
great pictures! thank you!!!
-
Very nice, love raised beds, built five of them myself :)
-
Great pictures of a great project mamapoppybee. Perry did some raised beds a couple of years ago as well and had some great photos of them. I know he posted them on the last website, not sure if he has made them available on this one……yet. A little gentle coaxing he might….. ;)

wow perry pretty garden looks to be mrs perry loves it as much as i do!
-
Nice bunch of four deep hives in the back also.
-
G3, those were all either empty or full of honey, no bees. :D I would never dream of keeping that many colonies in the backyard (well, maybe dream). I store my empty gear there, and any deep frames of honey I remove during the summer to make room in brood chambers. I then use those frames in the fall to heavy up any light hives. The only surprise I had that summer was when I went to move an empty box it was full of bees!
-
Looks like very heavy duty lumber, Perry. What height and thickness did you use? Looks kind of like oak?
-
2 x 10" rough cut Hemlock. Pretty rot resistant cause I didn't want to use pressure treated for the garden.

I know these are alot of pics but i have not posted in awhile and wanted to show how well the cinder block beds are working for me. I love the fact you can get so many plants in such a limited area i.e. the square foot method. I love this because it cuts back on my weeds and i get a more diversified crop. cant wait to put more in. Hope yal enjoy the pics. :)
-
Hey I love the way your garden looks, I believe you have the magic touch on growing a vegetable garden.
