Bees at the Hummingbird Feeder
« on: April 08, 2014, 06:32:00 pm »
I may have to feed them again. They have found our hummer feeder. That would really be no big deal for me except I know that our neighbors like to watch their hummers fly around and eat at their house. If I have bees at mine, I bet there are bees at theirs. I kind of doubt that feeding them would fix that though. Nectar source is nectar source, right?

My daughter's hummer feeders are always clamouring with bees, to the point that the hummers never get a chance at them.

Once there's a good flow on my bees don't really bother the hummingbird feeder.

I have three humming bird feeders.. the bees cant reach the nectar in them so they never have bees on them.
I had a complaint from in town that my bees were swarming a ladies hummingbird feeder, so I went to have a look..  I took it down and tightened it up so it would stop leaking and it was fine after that.

We may, in fact have a leak. That's a good thought! Thanks!

People should consider getting the new type of hummingbird feeder.  It really is bee proof, and it works really well.

That actually looks similar to ours, but ours has the glass jar that screws into it. Nectar is too deep for a be to reach, but not the hummingbirds.
