My Maple Syrup Season might be a bust!
« on: April 04, 2014, 11:41:13 pm »
Well got a flow for 2 days March 14th and then 2 more days March 29th. Nothing Much since then. The temps went from Artic 24-7 to Above 32 F 24-7... We need like 30  F or Below for 8-10 hours a night then warm up during the day. Hasn't happened much and now I'm worried I heard frogs today and that signals the end and it hasn't even really begun!

So here's my grand total so far from 20 Taps (11 less taps than last year) 122 oz and I have another Gallon to finish. Unless I'm wrong and the Sap Gods Bless me I won't have any to sell this year... :'(

Ouch.. thats painful. The weather is exceptionally annoying this year. I usually have four or five days at a stretch to get things done, this spring so far has given me one or two days then gone back to being annoying. Just when I think maybe were going to get a break I wake up to snow again.
I hope mother nature will pull out some more favorable conditions.. and if not, then I will hope that your honey flow exceeds your expectations.

Same thing up here Don. My buddy Volker has been trying to tap this year and I don't know that he's managed to get any amount at all either.
