8th inspection
« on: April 12, 2014, 03:03:26 pm »

Frame from weaker hive, building up nicely. Added second brood chamber. Finally cut out upper entrances in inner covers. Other colony going really good using all ten frames in lower brood chamber, working 6 of ten in second one. ;D:D

yes I am primarily for frame manipulation, I want to encourage in the draw out the foundation as quickly as possible, but my other main concern is I don't want to risk having them swarm on me. can't make adjustments if you don't know.

K. I'm shooting for a week to ten days so to watch for plenty of laying space for the queen.

right now they are both working in double deeps. when they are on 10 frames in the second chamber, I can start thinking about Supering for honey production. But even if the only thing I can accomplish is have them draw all that comb I still will be quite happy..8)

Nice looking frame right there Barry. Will be another couple weeks before I start seeing them that good.

That's real perty. I'm hoping to put on supers next week. We will see what happens.

Yessir, that's a purty frame. I hadn't been in mine since before the last cold snap. I moved a hive to bolivar tonight and added the second deep.
They were so full I'll take a look at some others tomorrow night. Hopefully I can add boxes and supers.
Saw my first white wax of the season last week.
