I was expecting it... I was trying to see how long it would take for them to swarm again. And, I was trying to buy a couple of days, to maybe make a split by closing the doors yesterday.
We were talking about this last night, that maybe it's a good thing that this swarm is out of the hive. It clears congestion for when we install the new queen which will be tomorrow or the next day.
We pulled a frame of brood from this hive last night and put it into hubby's nuc. It had queen cells, so I'm sure that there are more. That's what these swarmy bees do! They produce bees manically and make way too many queen cells of all kinds.
They Gotta Go! I called a guy in our area that is catching swarms. I told him that these are the swarmiest bees he will ever meet. He said he still wants them. He's Got Them!
