Thanks for the photos, Don. I can feel my body settling into a deep "calm" when I stroll through my bee yards and I felt the same thing looking at your pictures.

What's the sign in the first pic between and behind the first two hives, a warning for trespassers?

When I was first introduced to beekeeping I was an early teen.  The guy (in his 70s) that introduced me and was bringing me to the local bee keepers association meetings once told me about a couple of kids that we're trying to open the "drawers" of his hives not knowing what they were.  He said he ran outside yelling at them: "You better get away from those!!!  You're gonna get peppered!!!"

Fast forward to the next morning on the school bus... My best friend was telling me about he and a mutual friend saw these weird boxes in somebody's yard and while they were looking at them this old guy came out yelling that they were gonna get peppered.  I obviously laughed at him and told him what they were. "Getting peppered" became a running joke between me and my two friends.

That was completely off topic, but the sign made me think about that because after "those kids" trespassed and were checking out the "boxes" he put up warning signs.

Nice photos Don 2 of the 6 bees in the pictures were bumble bees. nice to see the native wild bees are out and healthy and that you are providing a food source for both the wild pollinators, the honey bees and all the other wildlife.
