Meteor Shower Early Saturday Morning!!!!

Get the coffeepot going...we've got a new meteor shower early Saturday morning.  It is expected to be a fairly decent one.  North America is supposed to in a good position to view it, weather permitting...the east should be good, and California, not so sure how the middle of the country will see it, though, as a weather system may interfere... http://www.beeweather.com/outlook_1day.php .   The meteors will radiate from an area close to Polaris, the north star.

Saturday morning...  Might just have to get up early and make a coffee for that.

Sheese, wasn't worth the loss of sleep here.  I got out around 12:50 local and stayed out till around 2:30.  Saw just a few, definitely not what they were hyping it up to be.  Some clouds tried to move in but there was plenty of visible sky.  Lots of coyotes howling, owls hooting, whipporwills crying, and mosquitoes buzzing...but not many stars plumetting to the ground...

I hope ya'll do/did better...

Not much better here.. saw about half a dozen in an hour.. got up at 3AM.. made coffee sat in lawn chair to watch..   Wife growled menacingly when I attempted to wake her to come watch...   I backed away SLoooooowly...

Smart move, Lazy,...our basic survival instinct gets us out of serious peril at times.

I stayed up ( peak was 1 AM here), but a big storm rolled in at midnight.
