Trip to Texas
« on: June 08, 2014, 11:56:41 am »
So I made this trip to Texas ths weekend. Went to Dadant in Paris and picked up some stuff. (I think I'm through with Dadant but that's another story).

Then drove on down to Klondike to the mother of one of my wife's friends. (She was so nice and hospitable. She made us an awesome lunch.)

The real reason of the trip though was to buy an extractor from her. Her husband was a keep, and he passed about six years ago. She had two Dadant extractors, one two frame and one four frame! She said she was hoping to get $250-$300. I paid her $300 and we were both happy.

It was definetly worth the 3-1/2 hour drive down there. She also through in a few other things to. An old helmet, and veils, and frame tool, and stuff I'll have to go through. I would post pics of the extractors if I knew how. I can't wait to use it, but with the wet weather we have been having its seems the bees are taking a long time capping the honey, but it should be soon!

Okay it worked, so this is how I learned how to get my pics on.

Once you get this figured out, it would be fun to see you in the helmet and bee veil  ;)

Great deal and generous of you to not haggle.  $300 for both the 4 frame is a super deal anyway.

That's the two frame extractor.

That's the four frame extractor.

We'll see if this works.

I can't wait until I get to make them look slightly used. (at least on the inside)

That may be today!

Great deal and the extractors are convertible to using as a storage bottling tank when the inside extractor parts are removed. The 2 frame 175 Lb.

That wasn't a trip to Texas.  That was a raid on Texas.
