This afternoon, on my way home from Jerusalem, I passed by the stream bed that we visited together, where David collected his stones in order to do away with Goliath---even without remembering the date, I thought fondly of you and the trip.  I've been thinking up more places to visit with you on your next visit.
When you make the move, we'll have to set you up in an area with a nice spot for bee hives.  No need to worry about bears here.   :)

Thanks Ef! Indeed, that was a great day and is in my top most wonderful trips and days I have had.  And, I would love to have a nice place in the country side of Israel.  I would love to live closer to Cesarea closer to the Mediterranean sea.  And, that is very good about no bears! ha!

dave, awesome looking honey and i sure like your label!

Thanks, one of my brothers is a graphic artist and that is all him.  With of course, my wishes.  He lives down in Nashville, TN now.  If anyone is interested in custom work, I am sure he would be willing to work with you.

Dave, as usual, your pictures and videos are the best.
Interesting to see your honey is light like some of mine.

Thanks Wayne! Yes, my first harvest is always that color.  Thick and sweet!  It registered 16.5% on the refractometer.  The honey I will get later this summer will be 17.5 to 18.5.  And, I will be more amber colored.

Right on! They can be pretty much shape you want too.  Doesn't have to be round like mine.  Also, it is a quality stiker, not the weak stuff from sticker sheets found at the stores.

... only wish i might someday meet you as well!....

Let me know when you and Mr. River are planning on coming to visit Israel----I'll be sure to work out something.  I'd even let you open my hives (if you want).  :)

LOL "Make sure she doesnt have any queen cages hidden on her person Ef!!!"

Now that just brought up a big question... hmm let's see if I get this right...  'What breed of queens do you have in Isreal?'

Like we refer to our queens as carni's or european or russians?

The general population of bees in Israel is primarily based on Italians (gentle, good producers, overwinter well), but a lot of work is done developing local strains through artificial insemination.  AI queens can be purchased from the Volcani agricultural research center and these are used by individual beeks to raise quality queens for further distribution of their gene pool.
