okay, that's a can of worms question..........theoretically........... :D
i would not check on her again for 7-10 days, she 'should' be laying by then...... ;D give her that time, go from there.......sometimes queens take longer than others. some right out of the cage within a few days of release, some a little longer.

   I have found eggs in three days, and I have NOT found eggs at ten days..  the ten day ones are the ones that make you worry.

The queen starts to lay a few eggs and as she lays her ovaries pick up in the production of making more eggs. The more she lays the the faster the eggs will be produced. so the longer she has been caged or only given limited space to lay in it can take more time for them to get into laying eggs at full potential.

No good word here. The first one was killed when I added another frame of nurse bees. They then started a queen cell. The second lasted long enough to lay up a frame of eggs. They hatched and promptly died. It didn't look to me like the nurse bees tried to feed them.

They then killed her and started a queen cell on old larva that was in the hive already. I tore it down and combined the two nucs. The new queen should have started her mating flights last Thursday.

I ordered two more from Mikes bees and honey for late July delivery. I will build a better nuc this time before their released. I wasn't pleased with my first nucs hence I added bees after release but before laying.

huh?   Got me scratching my head on that one....   Nurse bees shouldnt have had any issue at all with the queen....     Sure you didnt get some insecticide from a neighbor etc?

I don't think so. I've had this happen once before. Added frames of brood many times with no issues. In both cases though the queens were suspect.

What surprised me was the fresh hatched larva that died. There were plenty of bees to tend it but there wasn't a bee on the frame.
