We finally got to see a couple pics of son deployed
« on: September 02, 2014, 08:32:51 pm »
Our youngest Marine Tyler was forward deployed with the 11th MEU in the pacific aboard the USS Comstock amphibious assault ship. They deployed July 29th for 7 months patrolling in the area of the 7th fleet He just left Malaysia where these pics was taken and posted on 11th MEU Facebook page. So far on this deployment he has been to hong kong Hawaii iwo jima island which  people are rarely allowed by the Japanese to visit, He was in some Islands north and west of Hawaii to rescue NOAA researchers from the path of the recent hurricane and no telling where they are heading next. Always good to see your marine when he is out and unable to contact us. I thought I would share this. He is the one to our right standing on his AAV with his rifle in the other pic he is to our right kneeling in coveralls. and last pic is part of his unit leaving the well deck of the comstock headed to the beach over a mile away  We heard from him a couple weeks ago all he asked for was a jar of Dads honey. Lol

:photos: I've been waiting at least two years to see some pics  of your boys posted.  Next stage will be when you have YOUR sons circled so we can recognize them (if it's allowed).
Riverrat, you've got good reason to be proud. 8)

Tyler and the 11th MEU has been sent to the gulf of Oman and Arabian sea in the middle east to relieve the 22meu which is part of the Bataan ARG which had there deployment extended until Tyler's group got there.  They are there to maintain security and support of the troops in Iraq and other middle eastern countries. When he went through the strait of Malacca we as hoping they was headed the other direction to Australia.  Now we are seeing why he didn't let us know where he was going
