As I was thumbing through the 2014 Brushy Mountain Bee Farm catalog, I was amazed at the educational material that was included in the catalog. I then thought of the last Walter T Kelley catalog I saw and remembered the same. On page 5 of Brushy Mountain's catalog, entitled Anatomy of a Frame, you can find excellent pictures and explanations of queens, capped queen cells, drone brood, brood, small hive beetles and varroa.
Page 6 explains, with pictures, how to install a package.
For those considering beekeeping, catalogs from the larger beekeeping equipment dealers are an excellent way to learn about equipment, cost involved and terminology before you ever spend a dime!
Further more, these companies would like nothing better than to send you a copy of their catalog.
Maybe someone else receives a great catalog I haven't mentioned.
