wax melter

How do you fellow beekeepers melt your wax in the winter.  It looks like I am past the solar melter days, at least for a bit.  Does someone sell a good electric wax melter for those of us that have 15 or so pounds of wax?

I use a big stainless lobster pot, add an inch of water, and dump all my dry cappings wax in it. Bring to a melting temp, and then pour the lot into 3 gallon ice cream pails. Any crud falls to the bottom. After that it goes into my presto pot.
I see one of these on kijiji, but I am not sure how it works, or if it works well. As I grow and produce more wax I may need to step up from how I'm doing it now.

   Bypass the pictures of Eagle Eye Ted to see the little stove top mounted in the countertop..  When you see that, then you can go back to Perry's description of how he processes the wax, thats.. surprisingly, about exactly how I do it as well..  you'd think I was taking lessons but hes too far away..   As I understand it, when you get that far north it affects your thinking and you start talking backwards.. err. I mean speaking French!!

Its getting there.. One step at a time. I am still not happy with some bits and places, but given time I will get it all masaged into complaince!      Thanks Perry! Yours isnt bad either.. any updates to it recently?

Hey Scott:

No updates. The guy who is running all this for me just moved nearer to Halifax and they have been absorbed by the move (huge) for the last month or so. When they get settled in he will be able to tweak it where I think some changes can happen. I really do not want an "active" website, merely one where folks can go to get good information or directed to where I would go. I don't want to spend a pile of time updating stuff etc. I would rather be out doing what I enjoy most (that and playing here). 
Can I add yours to my links?

    I was told that the more links you have back and forth with other sites, the easier it is for search engines to find your site, and so, easier for people to find it.. Not sure how true that is, but please feel free to link my site.  I believe I already asked to link yours and you did not seem excited about it, so I did not. If that changes, let me know. I don't melt wax in winter. The income I can get from my wax does not seem sufficient to cover my effort and the electric or gas used.

Any dry wax bits or wet cappings are stored in lidded pails until the weather improves next year. My solar melters haven't been active for weeks but I will be using them next year.
