I don't know why.... But, I think he's beautiful and unusual! However! if I hadn't seen this vid, and one of those landed on my.. Yeeeah, I would freak out and freeze !

At first when my friend posted this on his facebook wall I was thinking it was a fake! BUT I looked it up and it is very real. Thank goodness we don't have them here! And I would probably have a panic attack if one landed on me!

I've never seen one before, and it is an ugly thing.  Hey Michelle, I see you live in Nova Scotia.  You are fortunate, you could maybe hang with Perry and really get a jump start on your beekeeping adventure.  OTOH, I may need to rethink that. 

I bet Riverbee would eat that bug before it scared the pee out of her.

We have lots of grasshoppers in the summer, and when one lands on you it grips you with it's feet, and it is a creepy feeling.

My son is an entomologist, but I am not so keen of bugs.

I am very fortunate to have Perry about 25 minutes away from me! I don't want to bug him too much! ;) But he is an invaluable wealth of knowledge to me! :O

Can't happen Michelle. The only time I ever even get remotely irritated, is when folks that clearly have access to the information they need, decide it's easier to call me, and you are not one of those. Some folks don't even seem to try and find things out on their own, they just call instead. I don't mind once in a while, but there are a few that I have fielded over 20 to 30 calls each since I've sold them nucs.

Yes you are, and we are all fortunate to have Perry here.  I was fortunate enough to get to meet him in person this fall and spend some time talking bees. What a great guy. :P

Dang, old Perry's ego was already about the size of weather balloon.  There ain't go be a hat big enough.  I guess one could argue that it's well deserved, but it would be a weak argument.  :):)
