I think many of the above remedies work. My father-in-law was a dairyman, and he had his hands is water so often while washing cow's bags. He used corn huskers and it worked, my father used bag balm and it worked. My remedy is to not abuse your hands. Since I seldom work my hands are very nice.

Jen, the trouble with your balm bars is that they are just too pretty. Who would want to ruin that beautiful design on the surface? Can it be used from the bottom so that it won't wear off?
