I wonder how one frame could elevate the temps enough throughout the hive to sterilize the make mites?

Cpn- Thanks for posting the link!   Very interesting. 
Marla Spivak is going to be our key note speaker at our bee club funday in June.  I hope she talks about MiteNot.  I will ask if she doesn't talk about it.

My understanding is that the frame monitors itself and if/when it recognizes the potential for mites it raises it's own temp to kill the mites and eggs, not the temp of the whole hive.  I would be interested in hearing what you find out when you speak to her.  Please be sure to share!

I haven't reread the article, But I was under the impression that only 1 frame was needed in a hive? How would sterilizing the male mites on 1 frame have much consequence? ??? :-\
