Any Michigan beekeepers you might want to share this.  Horrible people, they should be left locked in a car on a 90 degree day wearing fur coats.

This whole story was on the local news. Wednesday morning with a interview of the pups owners. What the busy body failed to mention nor did the person who wrote the story in your link mentioned was the windows were cracked a bit to allow air to flow. Also the duffle bag was made into a bed for the little pup.

Personally I don't think any one has any business taking a animal any animal with them to a store other than a pet store at allows animals inside winter, spring, summer or fall. Only animals for the seeing impaired  or other impairments are allowed in most store here in Michigan.

Al, I agree people should leave their dogs home.  In this case even though the windows were cracked, on a ninety degree day a car still heats up dramatically.  We just had a case in NY where people left two dogs in the car.  Another busy body called the cops and took a picture of their license plate.  The cops got there too late but tracked the people down as they were leaving an vet ER...... Both dogs died.  These people were arrested.  Too bad that busy body did not notice sooner for the dogs sake.

Before my dog died, ""natural causes"", I took him nearly everywhere. I would roll the windows up, turn the air on high, and lock the doors. Then start the engine with the remote control.

One day, I noticed a guy giving me the evil eye as I locked the doors.  I turned and hollered at the car, ""Star, if it gets hot, start the engine and turn the air on.""  Then, in my pocket, I hit the remote start. You have never seen such a shocked look on a man's face.

Idee, I had a friend that also left the car locked and running with a/c on when he had his dog with him.  People would look in and see the dog sitting with his face right in front of the vents, then they realized it was okay.  That was pretty funny on your part!

My step daughter has an all expenses paid company vehicle.  She takes her dogs to the dog park daily.  One very hot day she stopped to run an errand with the dogs in the car.  She left the vehicle running and air conditioning full blast.  A know-it-all stopped her and proceeded to threaten to call the police because she left her dogs in her car on a hot day.  The woman was so indignant that it didn't matter how many times Meghann told her the air conditioner was running full blast.  Meghann finally just walked away.
On a sad note, last year a K-9 died when the engine, of the patrol vehicle he was left in, died while the officer was on a call.
