Interesting story and theory. If what they say is true then queens raised in other locations are inferior cause there brood is more acceptable to local viruses. Migratory bees are moved so the bees change diets 4 or more times a year and the queens being raised to head these colonies can be raised in another separate region all together. If we stimulate feed the bees with pollen from another area to the cell builder while they feed the queen larva, then they will not get the protection from the virus in that area.
Some may look at this as another reason why local raised queens are better than ones raised in a different region. But a spring raised queen could have young that are vulnerable to fall virus.
The possibility are endless, I am not going to loose sleep over it.
