yes it is in part, and i did not know that when i purchased the cover! the line is from a poem jrr tolkein wrote, 'all that is gold does not glitter':

I'd love to have that for my 01 wrangler.  Just got her back on the road after a rusted out frame.  Nothing like welding and painting on a jeep.  I sure did miss her   Got a carry on her for hauling supers and nucs and an ammo box for the smoker. Handiest vehicle I own beside a couple of four wheelers, truck and tractors. But you know what I mean.  I may have to let her go because of insurance reasons next year.  Two sons in their teens are going to take a toll. Got to check into farm only or something.  Is the only ride I can park in the school lot since we are jammed in since the tornado a couple of years ago.

What does everyone else do for insurance?  Especially on extra vehicles.

As my jeep is paid off (98 wrangler). I only put the minimum on it during the summer and drop it during winter (I park it - soft top only).  That saves a bit...

Texas law requires liability insurance if driven on a public road, period.  However, most of us purchase uninsured motorist insurance.  it is a rider on the liability insurance that guarantees that if an "uninsured motorist" is at fault in the accident that your insurance will pay for your vehicle.  In brief, many of our drivers do not have insurance.

Call your insurance company and see if there are any rebates or reduction rates for a "blanket" policy.  I have all of my insurance with Farm Bureau, and once a year I sit down with them and go over all of my policies, and they nearly always find a way to lessen my costs.

Insurance is tough.  It's hard to live with it and without it.

my jeep is a 2000, i paid cash for it.  i have looked at the new ones, don't want one, like my 2000 too much. hard top, soft top, and a bikini top for it a neighbor gave me bran spanking new. his wife made him give up his jeep (new baby), that bikini cover has never been on, i need to sell it, i doubt i will ever use it.  the hard top has been on for the last few years, the soft top is pretty hailed and i would like to get a new one, one with a roll back like a sun roof type.  i drive mine year round, so soft tops are really not practical here in winters or for that matter driving long distances, the wind noise will make you deaf    my brother says just turn up the radio.......lol, he is more deaf than i am!  they are also a pita to switch out.

insurance. full coverage. lots of folks up here like to drive with no insurance or just liability, and even those with full coverage don't always cover their butts or someone elses as far as getting the right coverage.  yeah their payment may be cheaper, but wait until they get in an accident.

our insurance is through farmers, both vehicles and our city res, and a farmer's affiliate for the river property.  there are some discounts because of all being insured under farmers policies, discount for saftey features, and of course accident free.  accident free because i don't drive the misters boat truck, i tend to run over things in it......

teenagers, insurance, and vehicles.  i guess i am the old fashioned type. didn't buy a vehicle or pay insurance in full for my son.  he had to earn it. if he wanted a vehicle, he had to stay in school, maintain his grades, and work for it. might have helped him a little, but not like many parents do today.
my folks didn't pay for my insurance, and they didn't buy my first vehicle.  not sure what the rates are  for adding teens to existing policies and/or vehicles these days?

River thanks for the info.  As far as insurance goes I am in an area that is the maximum of the maximum. Five miles away it's half. But I am blessed living and working on the farm I have two big boys that will make things happen when needed.  Also the oldest has one semester of college completed by his senior year of high school.  He is also shadowing a local pharmacist until he's 18 this fall and can go to work for rite-aid.  Spoiled, yes they have been spoiled by their mother and in turn by me.  But I can count on them so far.
