differing honeys in one month

The images below show two different honey harvests.  The darker honey is the most recent harvest.  It is a very dark color and has a strong taste.  It almost has a medicinal after taste.  It is good, but it is strong.  It's one of those, "a little bit will go a long way things."  Both honey's came from the same apiary and the same two hives, and both honeys were strained through a 400 micron screen.  I give my honey to friends and charities so I don't worry about my honey crystallizing, as it is used relatively quick.  Also, I like the thought of not filtering out any of the "good" stuff.  My strainer keeps the larger bee parts out of the honey, and that's about all it does.

I was just amazed at how much the variation there was in two honey harvests that were only a month apart in time.

Happy to see you have some honey to spread around Lazy.  Are you sure you don't have a stand of broom weed somewhere close?

I live in an agricultural area.  All of the fields are either improved bermuda grasses used for hay or cotton or watermelon.  Last year's water melon honey was a bit dark, but it had a pink tinge to it.  This new, dark, honey was pretty good on this morning's biscuits.

Hope the honey is cured if it's not? laying on it's side like that could be dangerous if walked in front of.

I felt like a real technocrat when posting the pictures.  Then I saw that they were small and very lateral.  So much for my techno advances.

lazy, you are a technocrat! i rotated all the photos, but i cannot change the size.....now i just need to teach you how to flip your pictures before uploading them to the forum!  you are using an iphone 6 plus, correct? and microsoft windows photo viewer?  windows photo viewer has an option to rotate photos before you upload them to the forum.

also, when you upload a photo using post image, unless you have already 'resized' your image before uploading (guessing you didn't) choose this option 'Do not resize my image'.
