How I move bees from a shb infested hive to a new hive.
« on: September 10, 2015, 11:05:25 pm »
I take the infested hive and place it in a wheel barrow.
I put a new hive with frames and foundation where the old hive was located.
I  move the infested hive about 25-30 feet or so.
I remove each frame and shake and brush the bees into the wheel barrow.
The bees will go back to the original hive location and go into the new hive.
Watch for the Queen, when you see her, catch her and move her to the new hive and release her in the hive.
I then place the infested frames and such on black plastic in full sun.
They can't stand the hot sun.
After a few days in the sun clean as much off the frames and foundation that is possible.
Place in a plastic trash bag and put the bags with frames in the freezer for a couple of days.
Remove, clean the foundations and reuse them if needed.
