Is that what I'm looking for (#8 hardware cloth ? Or wire) does it have to be #8 , and is that for shb to fall through or is that the size for workers to get through ?  ?

 I have no. 6 wire for my oil pan cover and they work great but I would not go any larger and no.8 wire will work also.

# 8 hardware cloth is what is commonly used for screened bottom boards for varroa mites to fall through, not sure about small hive beetles.

They fall right through #8 screen on my hives. Adults and larvae both.

Well I've researched a little An trying to find cheapest way to buy , but have noticed they all tell thickness of said wire .025 to .045 thousand's what I would like to know is the size opening in the hole

hardware cloth mikey..........but i have a question, what are you using it for?............. :D :D :D

If you buy #8 hardware cloth, there will be 8 wires to the inch, (making a square approximately one eighth of an inch on each side).  #6 will be six wires to the inch (a bigger hole than #8).   HTH   :-)

I got a roll from ACE hardware store, they do not stock it but list it on their website. You can order it and have it shipped to the store nearest you for free shipping.

Thanks everyone, Me and cover it up went to southern states yesterday and ordered a 24" × 100' #8 hardware cloth for $87.00
