Wanted to let everyone know.that's a North Carolina pine snake, i caught in front the hive turned it lose. in grape vines, one of the prettiest snakes I've ever seen

That's rite ,doesn't have that diamond shaped head, beautiful snake, I've only seen about 2 dozen, an everyone I've seen are that size,just like the king snakes,their big :o

An also, the copper heads here only get about 2' long, that's a pretty snake too 8)

The biggest Copperhead i've seen was 37 in. long and big around as your arm. Our log cabin (on a bluff looking over Big Sac, river)was falling in, so we burn it down, the next year where the old porch was the copperhead was laying next to the foundation :o A week later my brother killed another one 35 in. long close to the same place.There have been many copperheads killed over the years around that log cabin when family gather there for fish fries (trotining,limb lines, and noodling) and some cane pole fishing. As far as i know? nobody ever got bit by one,but we kept an eye out for them.You can still find one there if you look fore them. :yes: Jack

Copperheads are beautiful snakes to my eyes.  Had never seen one before moving to Texas.  We live in an area with both the Eastern and Western variants in residence.   They run more than 3 feet long here too.  First time I ran into one, it wanted to go back toward the river and would not back down.  We have noticed they are usually found in pairs.

There was about a 4 to 5 ft. rattle snake got run over on the highway in front of our house several years ago.  I was telling my barber about it and he said, "How big around was it?"  I took a breath and said, "It was flat.  It was on a highway!"

Here in the coastal county's, we have eastern diamond backs that get 10 to 12 ft., ran across a few while running deer with dogs.
