cutting edge technology milling

I cant believe how far machining technology has came.  This video was shot in my shop and will be featured on the mastercam website.  I am using the new mastercam dynamic tool path routine to cut 316l stainless with a 3/8 endmill running 60 inches a minute and 3500 rpm before this technology came out we was running 10 inches a minute and 1200 rpm going through a lot of cutters.  I cut this oreder with a used endmill and running no coolant.  It cut the run time from 20 minutes a part down to 8.  the old way we cut a drop out of the center as you can see we are milling the whole center out of the part on new way.

Very nice..... And you can get these machines at Harbor Freight for $2.98, correct?

As an old machinist , I'm impressed! Never ran any CNC equipment, strictly old school.

That is so right. As far back as the eighties, we had to farm out production parts to CNC outfits to stay competitive. Manual milling and turning was for prototypes and custom work.

We don't even hire machinists anymore. We hire programmers and button mashers.
We used to have Fadals and now have 5-axis Chirons. The speeds are amazing. Tolerances are in microns.
