It's an amazing place.  One of the few places where where you could catch freshwater or Blue Marlin launching out of the same marina. 8)

I grew up in New Orleans and the fishing is one of the things I do miss. Fished in waters where you could catch salt water and fresh water fish in the same spot. Some of my fondest summer memories are taking off every day with my buds to go fishing or crawfishing. :)

I've spent a fair amount of my retirement nest egg eating charbroiled oysters at Drago's (restaurant) in New Orleans ;D

I have eaten the grilled oysters at Drago's many times.  They are unbelievably good.  They mop and sop them with a big old hand mop and whatever they put on them is wonderful.  I'm sure there is some real butter and lemon juice in the sop, and only God knows what else those South Louisiana folks add to it.

You ruin oysters by cooking them. A dash of salt while they are in the shell, then eat. Setting in the oyster bed with my hunting knife, a salt shaker, and a case of beer. NOW THAT'S LIVING.

I like them that way too Iddee.  In fact, I usually get a dozen raw before the charbroiled get to the table.  Not eating charbroiled oysters in the Big Easy is sort of not eating BBQ in North Carolina--all part of the experience.  I remember a night many years ago on Ocracoke taking a break from gigging flounder sitting on the inner tube, drinking beer and eating oysters I stumbled across that night.  Didn't need salt on them because they were on the sound side of the island.  I like cherrystone clams the same way--just open them and down they go :)
