Brood Question

Morning all, I have been queenless since the end of July after my hive swarmed. I am happy to say that I am again queenright after checking my hive yesterday. As the hive wasn't producing eggs for the last while, a lot of the bottom deep has honey in it (not all capped yet). Both the top and bottom deeps have some brood. Should I move the brood to the bottom deep so the majority of the brood are on the bottom? I've read different things about this and have there are many different opinions. What are some of yours? Thanks!

It doesn't matter where the brood is, that's why so many opinions. All are correct. The important thing is having EMPTY cells for her to lay in. If all cells contain something, put an empty frame, either drawn or not drawn, in the box she is in.

I agree. If you have a couple frames of capped honey in there, remove them and swap them out for a couple frames of foundation, just on the edge of some brood. The bees will draw those out quickly and the queen can start to fill them.

Thanks Iddee and Perry. I don't have a tun of frames where all the honey is capped. Mostly on the top.  I think I'll give it a try.
