Lovely day today-72d. So I went down to the beeyard to do some overdue inspections. I have one colony with a purebred russian queen installed last spring. This morning I would have bet they were much more docile than my hybrid russian colonies. I would have lost that bet.
Well, popped the top, couple quick puffs of smoke and I pulled a brood comb out. Just got to examine it long enough to see open and capped brood when bees came pouring out making that characteristic buzz they make when ticked off. Only took one sting to convince me today is not the day. I replaced the comb and walked about ten yards away and they forgot about me.
I kinda got my feelings hurt though. :\'(
