Mesquite and Paloverde pre flow inspection.
« on: March 27, 2017, 09:54:37 pm »
Well here we are just a couple days from going into the major part of our flow when the desert trees like Mesquite, Palo Verde, Cat Claw, among many other major nectar sources starting to flower along with the rest now available and our colonies are growing fast despite my mistakes earlier on. Lots going on with brood into the upper deeps or mediums depending on hives (girlfriend runs one deep with mediums above) and queens laying very well. Some queens we spotted and some not, but evidence they were busy was there. Only got a couple pics to share when a friend stopped by to say hello. Frame pics are from one of the smaller colonies, we were done with the large ones when he came by.

Feeling good about this spring with low mite count and 5 booming hives and the late birdhouse cutout coming along behind. Just may get a little honey with my education this season (fingers crossed)

Cheers, Bill
