Learning what blooms where and when!

Ok so after talking to a lot of local beeks and folks on here, they all seem to know what's blooming when and where. This seems to be my weakest subject to learn in beekeeping and may well be one of the most important. That being said after searching the internet I just can't seem to find any info that works for me. I know being able to identify plants / trees in the wild is a key factor in keeping bees. Does anyone know of any websites/ books that may be helpful in my learning process?

Tammy and I carry 2 field guide type books with us at all times (well if we remember  ) one for trees and shrubs the other for flowers that will fit in the pocket and look them up as we see them. Sometimes when bored we talk walks in the desert to simply ID stuff then we try to figure out if the bees use it. Here in AZ if yellow or blue/purple it is a pretty sure bet they do.... Most book stores or online book stores carry them for each individual state and or region.

I don't know where you are, but your state beek assn or extension site?
Peter Lindtner' s book _Garden Plants for Honey Bees_ is excellent and organised by bloom month.
