Less than 3 Weeks After Harvey

And the plants are coming back.

Our Oriental Pear tree is beaten, but not broken:









I don't think those blooms were there yesterday.  3Reds went outside this morning and thought we had a swarm because of all the buzzing.  She looked up and the tree was full of bees working, rather than swarming!



This plant has been in the back yard all Summer long.  Everytime I start to mow it down, I find a bee on it.  Can someone tell me what it is?

That doesn't look like anything we have around here.  Have you looked a the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center? www.wildflower.org
The silver underside of the leaves tell me that it will tolerate very dry conditions.

i do not know what that plant is that you asked for help on identification........i sent your pic off to a horticulturist friend of mine, perhaps she can help identify it.......?!

I have had that problem with their search engine too.  Glad you found an answer.  I also forgot a resource, for future mystery plants.  You county extension office gardening or horticulture dept.  In you situation, they may not be fully functioning yet.

Bakers, I had posted the question on my beek's club Facebook Page.  The man who responded first, and within minutes of my post, was our Ag Extension agent.  So, yes, that is good advice.
