I just signed a one year contract at the Wolfville Farmers Market. I ended up with a much better spot, on the outside of the oval, against a wall, and it's bigger as well. Because I am permanent I no longer have to set up and tear down after every market, a royal pain. All I had to do was build a cabinet that is on castors so that when the market building is used for weddings and dances and such, my cabinet can be rolled to an area designed for them by staff.
I built the whole thing for well under $100, using a bunch of scrap wood I had. I will leave the top and the wood au natural, we use a table cloth on top anyways. I find "rustic" is what fits in at the market, not too polished (good thing).
I have a sheet of 1/4" plywood on the back side till I get some molding and make a couple of locking doors. There is plenty of space inside to store stuff, so we will only have to bring what we sold the previous week. A lot less work.
I also have a 6' X 2' banner that I will hang on the wall behind us.
