The year's first stings
« on: April 18, 2018, 05:40:33 am »
Doing a split on Monday afternoon, two sneaky bees got me in the ankle.  They were the first solid stings of the year.

Ankles hurt, but come to think about it, since I started wearing a jacket only I can't remember the last time I was stung in the ankle. When I used to move hives a lot I would get stung there often enough I would have a hard time putting runners on the next day.

I’m surpassing my quota of stings for the year, and the season has just begun.

My leather gloves have a cloth section between the canvas of the sleeve and the leather. The cloth is wearing thin and this has become the bees favorite target.

Twice on each hand in the last three days.

FWIW, I’ve never been stung on the ankle. I think I’m thankful for the hand stings, instead

Hope you’re not injured too badly.

Ouch, that looks like it still hurts.   I am kinda looking forward to getting stung again! It has been a while since I was in the hives.
