Making Honey Straws

Does anyone on the forum make honey straws?  If so, do you sell them or are they for personal use?
I need several hundred straws for an educational event in June.  I have been hesitant to order them and then I saw this method of making honey straws.  https://www.onegoodthingbyjillee.com/homemade-honey-sticks  We would all like to use our own honey rather than buying in someone else's. Right?

Good grief!  Thanks Perry.  I am beginning to wonder about my senior moments. 
My sister had a less expensive idea.  A flat iron meant for women's hair is a lot less expensive.  She experimented with her own flat iron and it sealed a straw.

Good to know, it would certainly save the dollars spent on that sealer!

Perry, it might be easier too.  With a styling flat iron, you can hold the straw up right and less likely to make a mess.  I picked up a flat iron at a discount store yesterday.  The package says it heats to 400F/204C.  Surely that will melt a straw?

 A bit of trial and error will be all that is required B12. Let us know how you make out as this is something I had wanted to try but have never got around to it.

i have looked into this as well and before the post on the thread perry posted.
i was like okay............

i thought getting lip balm material into a tube was a challenge............

i just buy honey sticks, they are good sellers, but if you come up with an easy way to fill a straw and seal it, i am all over it!

I think it will be a tedious process.  My sister has offered to help and we have already brain stormed efficient steps.  I found some straws on
Amazon and have ordered them.  They average .04 cents each.  Seems high, but the numerous comments said they purchased them to make honey straws.  I also bought some cheap picnic style ketchup and mustard bottles to squeeze the honey into the straw.  Keeping the honey from being messy is going to be the challenge aka sticky hands and sticky straws.

The warmer the honey the better I bet.

I use blunt nose syringes to fill ink cartridges for my Fountain Pens sometimes. The syringe without the needle may also work for filling straws with honey.

yes, i think these syringes would work wm, i have a pile of them.....and as perry said, the warmer the honey the better.
i don't know, i still manage to make a mess filling honey jars and lip balm tubes and making candles..........a honey straw would REALLY be a challenge for me.

In thinking this through step by step I already decided that I would use a bucket heater to warm the honey. 
I would like to figure out something that would hold the straws upright until I seal them.  Otherwise it will be one at a time.

2x4 with appropriate sized holes drilled in it?  Cheap and might work.  Ted

I am finding that all straws are not created equally.  I am hoping the straws I have ordered from Amazon live up to the flat iron.
