Her name is Willamae Noelle. It's a conglomeration of so many people who have been an inspiration and blessing to DD through the course of her life. W, to remind her of Iddee, who taught her all about bees and blessed her so abundantly as she grew up into womanhood. William was my maternal grandfather, Mae was my paternal grandmother and I carry her first name. Noelle is for SIL's father, who passed away just after DD learned that she was expecting this precious babee. We fondly call her Miss Willie, after our next door neighbor for many years when my kids were very young. The original Miss Willie was like a godmother to my children and always stayed in touch with them throughout their lives until she passed away last spring. DD felt that her first daughter should be honored to carry pieces of the names of all of the people who meant the most to her as a young girl.
She weighed 7lbs 8oz, 19.5 inches long. DD labored 21.5 hours and is a total boss! She handles natural childbirth like nothing I've ever seen. I have been blessed to be present and assisting with all 3 of her babees introduction to the world. I'm so very thankful that she finally got the homebirth that she has always dreamed of...it was just a beautiful experience, nothing I've ever seen or done tops it!
