That sure is a bunch of dead bees in front of the orange hive and the had to come out of the top entrances to boot. Might needto go in to investigate a little more.
Bees are bees and do as they please!

I was going to guess kamikaze robbers.   ;)

The UN Peace talks have failed

The Peace core has retreated and a full blown war has broken out between neighbouring hives

The ethnic cleansing has been devastating and there are numerous dead in the streets  :'(

Looks like SlowModem is the
WINNER

My focus was supposed to be on the famous Iddee robber screens. I guess the piles of bees were a bit deceiving. They are all winter kill that I scraped off the bottom board with a long skewer before I put the screens on. The orange hive was busting at the seams before winter hit so I expected to have a lot of dead bees. The robbing so far has been only minor, but enough to prompt some action.

Well, I was close. It just turned out to be keeping bees out rather than flies. I should get a consolation prize.....  :P  ;D

You're right. How about 2 free nights in the Grove Park Inn in Asheville.  Just keep checking your mail. They'll be there "shortly". ;)

Sorry Riverbee. The original prize was going to be free beekeeping advice from me, but then I thought no one would enter the contest. :D

And who's going to be waiting for me down at the Grove Park Inn?

PS. I thought it was the Franklyn Park Inn in the song..........................

It´s better to dispose of dead bees in a fire or some other site than in your bee yard to keep down the risk of spreading diseases.  ;)
