Feeding my Bees
« on: March 18, 2014, 05:27:26 pm »
I know this has been brought up before but, How long do I need to feed my bees. I did a cutout last Wednesday.
If you read the post on first cutout, you`ll know they vacated the premises on Saturday, twice, and I got them back and fashioned a queen excluder.
Today, they are piled up on the sugar syrup, eating their hearts out. How long should I keep this up. I`m in South Georgia and things are starting to bloom.
This may be a dumb question, but these are my first bees and I would like to do right by them. Thanks in advance. Harper

Feed until they stop taking it! You'll know when they stop.

I put the same amount of food on all my hives last week with division board feeders. It was interesting 1 week later when I checked. 1 hive had all but emptied the feeder. The other two had barely touched the feeder at all.
