Old Ford 600

Saw this for sale a couple days ago not too far from me.  I think it's a Ford 600.  The price has dropped to $2000.  I have been eyeballing these old Fords for a while.  I had my heart set on an 8N though.  Where does the 600 rank in the old Ford tractor family line?  Good, bad?

8n= no live PTO 4 cy. flathead  some with front mount distributor=bad

600= live pto 4 cy. overhead valves

8n value=1500 to 3000

600 value = 2500 to 4500

I have 4 8ns and 2 600s.

I don't think you will get a better deal if you want a tractor. It is twice the tractor of an 8n after 1950, 3 times an 8n before 1950.

Of course, this is assuming it runs and works as well as it looks in the photo.

Iddee, I went and spoke with him about the tractor.  Very nice guy.  He owns and operates a auto shop on his property.  He was nice enough to start it and talk it over with me.  He took it in on trade last year.  The rear wheels are newer, the right rear tire is new but he was a little bothered the original owner didn't match the name brand with the left.  Goodyear on left, Samsun on the right.  Anyway, 12 volt conversion, seemingly new radiator.  He showed me the spot on the left where the serial number is but the paint was heavy or it was not there to begin with.  I did take photos of the the cast numbers on the right though.  An interested buyer told him it might be a jubilee but it's the seller is betting on 54 NAA.  I took a pic of the front badge with has stars on the rim not "jubilee" unless it has been changed at some point.  Also, I noted the rear axel nut being 2 inches" I understand that dimension coupled with it being smooth or not can help identify it.  I thought you would know more about it than me looking at it closer and know about them more.  Here are the pics and video.  The video at the end has horrible sound.  Believe me, the tractor sounded good to my ears.  Sorry I didn't get a pic of the back..my batteries went out in the camera.  But, it looked right.

Thanks Wayne.  No sure if this ever sold or not.  I was tempted to buy it myself.  Just have other things waiting in line to empty my wallet.
