The sock test...
« on: May 05, 2014, 11:48:18 pm »
If you knock over a large container of syrup on your kitchen floor, say around 2 gallons and you want to make sure you got it all cleaned up, wear a pair of socks across the area in question. If you still have your socks on when you reach the other side, you're good. If not, keep cleaning. I, of course, wouldn't have any experience in such a thing. :-[ I heard it from somebody else. ;) :D

The sock test can be used after extracting honey in your kitchen as well.

She heard "sunny beaches", but all she found was an "ocean" of syrup.

I remember dumping about 1.5 gallons of my 2 gallon harvest from my first year all over the kitchen floor.  :'( So, I got the double sammy. #1 I was broken hearted to loose most of my first years harvest and #2 I got the wrath of the wife until I had her floor cleaner than it was before I dumped all that honey.

I have noticed the sock thing before myself.  I usually discover a mess when the dark spots start appearing as dirt collects on all the honey harvest drippings I missed.  I get in trouble too.  However, Perry, I would be living in the workshop if I spilled wax on the stove...yikes!!
