storage space
« on: June 02, 2014, 09:31:51 pm »
So i am cleaning out my garage, and have come to the realization that i have some extra space.  This will simply not do, for as we all know garages are meant to be filled to the point where a car will barely fit (sometimes not at all!).

So, i am throwing it out there to all my new found friends here  what do you have for storage setups for your beekeeping equipment?

This is about the only thing I could find... http://books.google.com/books?id=_bO4AAAAIAAJ&pg=PA122#v=onepage&q&f=false

any other ideas? photos would be nice too :)

I just hang frames from the basement rafters and stack empty box's under the lean-to.

I thought that page looked familiar.  I have that issue, though I think that picture may be in a few different issues.

zweefer, i have several places for storage, one is in old milk house for the majority of my equipment, basement of the house (cooler) for plastic tubs of foundation, and a small room in the house for miscellaneous items i don't want in extreme heat and cold or the mice to chew on...i store my extracting equipment in that room, coveralls, gloves, veils,  all sorts of stuff.  here is a pic of half the milk house, was going to post this on my own thread, still can, you guys will laugh at how organized this is now.......it wasn't and hasn't been for about 2 years.....spent 4 days getting it there....

thanks zweefer. what's nice is having an indoor storage area, many beeks don't have this luxury.  this building stays very cool during summer months.  in the majority of those boxes are drawn comb, and a couple with sealed frames of honey in deeps i use to feed back to the bees.

Currently I use a run in shed for storage. Suits etc go in the garage.   Eventually it will get closed in, concrete poured etc..  WAY too many projects going to even think about getting that finished..
Plans are on the table to build a new candle shop, the basement of which will be for bee stuff..  wood shop/honey extraction/wax processing/storage and a small room set up for doing cell punch..  grafting if I can ever figure out how to make my hands a LOT more steady than they are now.   With luck that will happen before I get a chance to worry about improving the run in shelter.

I store them in my workshop along one wall.  However, I am going to run out of room very quickly.

I have a 22ft moving van box that was written off when it got scraped down the side when the truck went in the ditch 8 ft wide 22 ft long with an extra 4 ft that extended over the cab. 8 ft 6 in ceiling height. 1 side door and double back door, Have out an axle under it and hitch so it is movable, and up off the ground.
