Library presentation.
« on: August 09, 2014, 08:55:58 am »
My family and I were invited to supper along with a few other families last night, at the home of one of the Wolfville Librarians (I also have a beeyard there  ;))
After supper I was presented with these beautiful glossy pages that I was unaware had been made. There were 59 folks at the library, it kept growing after I had started, lots of kids, and they were thrilled. The library brought out a great big fruit tray with all things that honey bees pollinate. I have been asked if I will do it again (of course I will).
Someday I will have an office (as well as a honey house) and I will frame and hang these.
The only thing funny about the pictures is that it shows my hair as much grayer than it is!  :D

Very cool! And great idea for the bee house!!    I had not considered getting pictures during talks, to kids or adults..   I'll have to see if the local paper can get me copies..
Yeah the camera does wierd things at wierd times.. Quite often I see they make me look like I weight twice as much as I actually do.. So I bet the Hair things is similar.. bad lighting or something....

I'm at a loss for words. I thank my lucky stars for the people we have on this forum, and this is one of the big reasons why.

If I had hair Perry, it wouldn't matter much what color it was..... ;)

How long did it take to show everything you talked about?  Looks like you gave a wide overview of beekeeping, from your hive to the bottle.

A good sticker I once read said,"God only made so many perfect heads, the rest he covered with hair!"

The presentaion was an hour long, and I found that I barely scratched the surface, but tried to cover as many points as I could. The young ones have to be kept interested as they tend to wander after a bit.  ;)

I was on the radio for a 1/2 hour the other day, on the "Weekend Gardener Show" with Nikki Jabbour. I had so many things I wanted to say and at the end of it I felt I had missed so much.
On air I told her that next time she had to have both Adam and I on, and we would barricade ourselves in the studio and take over till we were done talking (he did the show last year).  :D

Perry- "On air I told her that next time she had to have both Adam and I on, and we would barricade ourselves in the studio and take over till we were done talking (he did the show last year).

That wouldn't be enough time Perry, it would take a year, every day, on the radio to tell all you know about beekeeping, or any of us for that matter. How can you explain 437,126 different view points on beekeeping on air  :D

And by the way, I so enjoy seeing pics of the people who are in this beekeeping business along side me ~ didn't even notice the color of your hair, did notice the tats tho  :D
