I actually agree with most of the statements based on my limited knowledge.. However, I do often see similar statements claiming that there are now XX% more hives than there were two years ago, ten years ago etc.. so there must not be a problem!! As beekeepers we all know the reality of splitting hives to replace loss and provide increase.. Next year I could have twice as many hives as I have now if I have a 50% loss this winter, so the use of current # of hives is an irrelevant argument. Otherwise.. I agree.. We will see how this winter goes and what I have for losses with my bees surrounded by Neonic corn. I might be eating my words with a big slice of humble pie.
