My tarpaper (or roofing felt) does not go down over my bottom entrance, and that entrance reducer was made with an entrance that just allows the varrox vapourizer I have to slide in. No removal of the paper is neccessary.

What Perry said..  the tar paper goes ABOVE the bottom board when you wrap the hive so it does not interfere with the entrance or entrance reducer. The upper entrance if you have/use one will need to be opened up.
