Presto Wax Melter
« on: November 09, 2014, 02:13:07 pm »
Ok, perry i broke down and bought a Presto wax melter (5.? qt. (can't believe i'm taking your advise?) so now Maybe i'll get around to using those molds i bought two years ago :eusa_doh: Supposed to be here Nov, 12th, a little pricey but i got tired of trying to find something with a spout and adjustable heat,i typed in Presto wax melter on Ebay and Presto. :D. Wax melter $58.00 with shipping $78.00, after reading on the forum how members make bees wax products and sell them. I thought with the wife having knee replacement tomorrow mourning it will be something i can do when i'm not cooking, washing, scrubbing floors, dusting, driving her to and from therapy in Springfield, and taking care of farm chores O:-). Ill probably have many question once i start. ??? Jack

Best wishes for your wife's speedy recovery, Jack.  Good luck with the wax melting. (Remember, that's how Burt's Bees got started! ;D)

When i was on the Fire Dept., we worked a 24 hr. shift and took turns cooking for a week at a time. I learned alot from the other fireman on how to cook. I hope my wife likes food with hot peppers in it, like Mexican corn bread, ect. just about everything had hot peppers. Hmmm come to think of it? that might get her up running around quicker. ;D Thanks for all the well wishes, our son who works for the hospital has everything set up for mom, all she has to do is show up. Jack

OK, I just bought a new mold and thought I'd give it a try. I've been asked by a few folks if I made "Christmas Tree Candles", you know, the kind people actually used to use on Christmas trees? I kinds thought those things were awfully dangerous, but I started looking around and this mold by Mann Lake was the closest thing I could find. I ordered it and just did my first pour. It makes 3 - 4" candles at a time, and will take forever to make a bunch. One person wants 26, and the other I'm not sure. I think they could be a hit with people for other things as well. This mold splits 3 ways to release the candles and requires rubber bands to hold it together like you see in the 2nd pic.
