i think in order to capitalize on these muth jars, you might have to have the market......or create it......? dress them up to command the price you would want for them. put the shrink wrap on them, or the beeswax seal as yankee has done. a label tied on with whatever that looks attractive. i don't sell at a farmers market, i think this would be hard to do to command the price you want? but maybe not?! make them stand out from all the others! some folks just want honey and the container makes no difference, but some will buy something 'different' in a container that appeals to them, especially if you are selling prior to christmas.
i sell a great deal of all these jars but typically targeted, and most of my sales come in fall to christmas season except for the 4oz;
the 4 oz jars; weddings, showers, gifts and christmas gifts
the 8 oz jars gifts and christmas
the 1 lb jars, fall roadside sales, gifts and christmas gifts.
find your 'niche' or market. like yankee, fall months or going into christmas season brings me the greatest profit on these muth jars.
yankee thanks! and lee, to make your head scratch more, a jar with gold ribbon and red and green rafia......btw, my labels are made so that i can change the border to red or green during the christmas season:
